These are stories of resilience, transformation and solidarity. All speak to the need for change in formal education, and the centrality of Indigenous ways of learning and being in our lives and communities. Honour these voices. Listen and watch with heart.

Our Voices

Students, professionals, elders and youth shared the story of their educational journey on video or audio, individually, with a friend, as a family or in a Talking Circle. Some stories evolved into short documentaries spanning generations and territories: Our Voices.

My Voice

Watch and listen to individual stories of education and learning at school, college, university, in family or on the land. Story exchanges were conducted by Indigenous members of our research team at multiple locations including Kahnawake, Kanesatake, Tiohtiáke (Montreal), Kangiqsujuaq and Kuujuuaq, Nunavik. The resulting videos vary in length and scope and are largely unedited: My Voice.
